The Meet Cute Method by Portia Macintosh – Blog Tour

Thank you to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for organising this tour and to Portia MacIntosh, Boldwood and Netgalley for a copy of this novel in exchange for a honest and unbiased review.

Frankie doesn’t believe in true love. As relationships expert at popular magazine Stylife, she has learnt that dating disasters are far more common than happy ever afters.

So when she is tasked to find out if meet cutes can work in real life she is up for the challenge – but whether it’s being a damsel in distress with a flat tyre, or spilling coffee over a stranger, she isn’t convinced this can really lead to love.

But little does Frankie know that the ultimate meet cute opportunity is just around the corner. As she is whisked off her feet (all in the name of her work project of course…) perhaps true love isn’t just for the movies after all…?

My Thoughts

If you haven’t read any Portia Macintosh books before I highly recommend that you make a start.  They are all wonderful, but The Meet Cute Method may be my favourite one yet.

Frankie is a magazine journalist who writes about love and marriage.  In order to impress her new boss, she is researching an article on old fashioned dating by trying out a variety of meet cute scenarios, based on romantic films.  What ensues is an hilarious and fun adventure that may just lead to some genuine romance.

Frankie is such a fun character.  An expert on love and marriage behind the keyboard, the reality is that Frankie is single, and a bit of a dating disaster.  She is such a darling but also a bit of an hilarious case.  She tries so hard but seems to end up in some really funny situations.

I adored the chemistry between Frankie and Max and they brought out each other’s naturally playful side.  Addison was also a fun character too.

This is such a funny and light read and is perfect for a holiday book or just to escape for a few hours.  It’s full of hilarity, travel, flirting and mishaps and I couldn’t get enough of it.

Portia MacIntosh is the bestselling author of over 20 romantic comedy novels.
From disastrous dates to destination weddings, Portia’s romcoms are the perfect way to escape from day to day life, visiting sunny beaches in the summer and snowy villages at Christmas time. Formerly a journalist, Portia has left the city, swapping the music biz for the moors, to live the (not so) quiet life with her husband and her dog in Yorkshire.
