No ex Before Marriage by Portia Macintosh – Blog Tour

Thank you to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for organising this tour and to Portia MacIntosh, Boldwood and Netgalley for a copy of this novel in exchange for a honest and unbiased review.

It’s not over until someone says ‘I do’…

While her friends join the “Wife Club” one by one, Poppy feels like that part of her life is done and dusted. Already married and divorced she’s not desperate to go through all that again.

But what if her divorce never actually went through…?

After a shock revelation Poppy not only discovers she is still married, but that Zac is about to have his second wedding!

Coming face to face with her (almost) ex-husband after six years apart is never going to be easy. And when Zac panics and tells his new wife-to-be that Poppy is family, things can’t get much worse as she is welcomed with open arms as part of the wedding party!

As the memories flood back, can Poppy really leave the past where it is? And can she watch the first love of her life walk down the aisle to say ‘I do’ once again?

My Thoughts

I am always so excited when a new Portia Macintosh is on its way as her books just hit the spot every single time.  No Ex Before marriage delivers on everything I enjoy in a romance novel and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Poppy’s life has recently lacked a little sparkle.  She was married and divorced within a few years and her married friends are excluding her more and more.  Until she realises that she is actually not divorced at all and her ex is about to remarry.  Can Poppy race to Scotland in time to finalise the divorce or will old feelings get in the way?

I felt really sorry for Poppy and was actually really angry with her petty and shallow so-called best friends although they do have some sense of loyalty – I was irritated on Poppy’s behalf.  I loved that Kat came into her life when she really needed her and she was definitely my favourite character.  The pair get up to some fun and hilarious adventures on their trip and I often giggled out loud whilst reading.  Everyone needs a Kat as a mate.

This is such an uplifting romance that is perfect to help manage the January blues and the rubbish weather (here in the UK) means you have a perfect excuse to stay in for a one sitting read too.  Highly recommended.
