My Thoughts

Two Truths is an intriguing and compelling novel with a Dan Brown vibe and a whole lot of family.  It’s unique and clever storytelling is unlike anything I’ve ever read before.  It has a fantasy aspect but written with a realistic approach and it is woven through the ‘quests’ of three sisters to find out who murdered their father after he moved the family to New Zealand.

For a plot that has such a complex and deep idea it is a fairly easy book to read and follow.  It’s impossible not to get lost in the lives of the 3 sisters and the different paths they take to find out what happened to their father.  They join a journey of religion, secret societies, powerful love and The Order and it all culminates into a brilliant and intricately woven tale of self-discovery.  Of course there are plenty of twists on the way.

I love how each sister had their own strong voice and the multi narration allows the reader to gain an insight into each one.  As in many families, there are various dynamics and these are well explored and written about.  Most people with siblings can completely relate to the emotions and motivations of the sisters to some extent and will probably be drawn to at least one as a kindred spirit.

A very clever and well-developed plot with intricately drawn characters and an accurate reflection on family dynamics.  Highly recommended.
