Archibald Hill is handsome, single, and he’s going to his best friend’s wedding ready to make a conquest or two. After all, everyone knows weddings are the perfect setting to get lucky.
Summer Knowles used to have a life—friends, family, a sister who’d do anything for her—until she blew it all away with a terrible mistake. Now, attending her twin’s wedding as the party’s undesirable number one seems like more than she can handle. So, when a tall stranger with smoldering ice-blue eyes offers her a therapy of seven nights of no-strings-attached fun, she might even ignore that he has a beard and accept.
Problem is, Summer has never been good at keeping sex and feelings separated…
You may kiss the bride is the 6th book in a linked series (First Comes Love) however works really well as a stand alone. I have read books 3-6 in which the same characters make an appearance and the stories are connected.
Camilla Isley really transports the reader into a glamorous world perfect to escape to for a few hours. I felt whisked away to Napa and fully indulged in the yoga, the food and the luxury hotel surroundings whilst reading.
Summer Knowles is attending her sister’s wedding and is dreading it. Despite being overjoyed for her sister, Summer has some demons to face after a huge mistake and it will not be comfortable for her. The best man Archie is looking forward to a fun, no strings week but is that truly what he wants? Of course I’m not going to tell you!
The setting and build up to the wedding are so vividly described and I really felt like I was part of the guest list when reading. It may be the closest I get to a break this year so I made the most of every detail.
Summer is a character who has a mention in book 4 and 5 and it’s not always complimentary so I really enjoyed getting to know her properly in this installment. She is really likable and relatable in some ways as a woman who has made a mistake and regrets it but is still being persecuted for it constantly. She appears confident but is much more vulnerable underneath. I liked her instantly and spent the whole novel rooting for her. Archie is a very confident character and deliciously handsome but despite the swagger, he is likable too. There are moments in the novel when he really shows sensitivity and you get a little beneath his ladies’ man exterior.
I adored this whole novel and it’s definitely a one sitting book if you have the luxury of a few hours to escape. I highly recommend this whole series.
Author Bio – Camilla Isley
Camilla is an engineer turned writer after she quit her job to follow her husband on an adventure abroad.
She’s a cat lover, coffee addict, and shoe hoarder. Besides writing, she loves reading—duh!—cooking, watching bad TV, and going to the movies—popcorn, please. She’s a bit of a foodie, nothing too serious. A keen traveler, Camilla knows mosquitoes play a role in the ecosystem, and she doesn’t want to starve all those frog princes out there, but she could really live without them.
