The Wedding at the Beach Hut Cover

Synopsis

Robyn Moss just wants a simple wedding. A quiet ceremony; a picnic on the beach; dancing barefoot on the sand until the sun goes down. But first, Robyn has one very important thing to do – before embracing her future, she needs to uncover her past. As she sets out to find her birth mother, a tangled thread of love, loss and betrayal that ties together three generations of women begins to emerge.

As her wedding day approaches, Robyn discovers that where there is heartbreak, there is hope – and that in the end, love will always win.

Escape to the beach with Veronica Henry’s captivating new story of three women, three summers, and a wedding that changes everything. The must-read novel of summer 2020!

My Thoughts

I just love settling down with a Veronica Henry novel and I adore The Beach Hut series.  When I was little I used to go to Devon with my grandparents and the hired a beach hut sometimes.  I have the best memories of this and The Beach Hut series always takes me back to that happy place with them.

Veronica Henry takes delicate threads and weaves them into the most beautiful tapestries you can imagine.  A Wedding at the Beach Hut Is a wonderful and delicately told story of different types of love that can exist in a person’s world and the impact of these loves.  Told over two timelines and from multiple perspectives, the reader is treat to romance, family drama, loss and heartbreak.  All told with heart and soul.

In the present we follow Robyn’s journey to find her birth parents as she prepares for her wedding to Jake and the arrival of their first child.  Jake and Robyn are surrounded by wonderful friends and family, who also are pulled into sub-plots that are equally as entertaining.  I especially loved Gwen, Robyn’s eccentric and flamboyant but wise best friend.  It’s difficult not to fall in love with the inhabitants of Everdene and I really hoped that every single one of them achieved their goals throughout the book.

For me personally, the highlight of the novel as reading about Emily whose story is told in the past timeline.  She was such a strong character and her story was heartbreaking.  These chapters changed the tone of the narrative a little to a more serious tone and I found myself riveted by her story.

The setting of Everdene is just perfection.  The little beach huts, the waves, the whole picturesque perfection of the place just stole my heart and I used my childhood memories to bring it to life alongside the vivid description.

All the characters, setting and threads are woven together to create such a  wonderful story and I cannot recommend this enough.

Veronica Henry

I’m Veronica – otherwise known as Ronnie! – and welcome to my Amazon page. I’m delighted you’ve found your way here!

People often ask me what kind of books I write and it’s a very difficult question to answer in one sentence. I love to take my readers somewhere they might like to be. And in that setting, my characters go through the trials and tribulation of everyday life – embroiled in situations and dilemmas we can all relate to. Love is at the heart of it, but all kinds of love, not just romantic: the love of friends and family, or a place, or a passion for what you enjoy (food, wine and books, in my case . . .)

I have a background in writing television drama (Heartbeat, Holby City) so that has been an influence – creating lots of characters whose lives impact on each other. I was taught ‘Make ’em laugh; make ’em cry; but above all, make ’em wait’!

I hope they are beautifully written, uplifting and a little bit escapist. I’d love to know what you think, so do leave a review. Or you can contact me via Twitter @veronica_henry, or on Facebook or Instagram @veronicahenryauthor

A little bit about me: I live by the sea with my youngest son and a naughty miniature Schnauzer called Zelda. I love cooking and discovering new restaurants on city breaks, with beach walks and a bit of yoga to offset the calories. And books, of course! My biggest influences are HE Bates, Nancy Mitford, Jilly Cooper and any book that has a big rambling house and an eccentric family .
