Anna’s running away. From a failed relationship, a dead-end career and a complicated family life.

On the island of Santorini, with its picturesque villas, blue-tiled roofs, and the turquoise waters of the Aegean lapping at the white sand beaches, Anna inherits a less-than-picturesque summer house from her estranged father. As she rebuilds the house, she rebuilds her life, uncovering family secrets along the way that change everything. She starts to fall for her little slice of paradise, as well as for gorgeous, charming Nikos.

Will Anna lose her heart in more ways than one?

My Thoughts

First of all how stunning is that cover? The cover alone would have convinced me to read this book but when you add in a delightful cottage in a stunning location, a sexy love interest and a host of brilliant characters then you have a perfect summer read.

Do you know that feeling of warmth that washes over you the minute you read the first chapters of an uplifting novel and you know that it will be a winner?  Well this is one of those books.

Anna travels to Santorini to claim an inheritance (a summer house) from her estranged father.  Broke, alone and penniless she only intends on staying long enough to repair and sell the house but as she gets to know her family and the locals, she begins to change her mind.

I fell in love with Anna and Santorini immediately and I couldn’t put this stunning book down.  The words on each page just totally washed over me and took me along on Anna’s journey.  The setting is simply stunning and I really want to just go an live in the summer house by myself for a few weeks.

Anna is a delightful character although a little judgmental, it’s easy to see why.  As well as her personal journey and the romantic aspect of the novel, there is also the real story of what really happened between her mother and her father all those years ago.

In simple terms – if you love location romances then you’ll fall in love with this novel too – it’s a perfect summer read.
